VB Powerpoint Shapes

Tyrone

I am trying to copy a shape from a closed presentation, and paste it
into a active open presentation.

All I have done is this, and it only copies a shape if the
presentation is open

I dont mind even if the procedure opens the presentation and then
copies the relevant shape, then closes the presentation

Sub CopyObjtss()

Presentations("H:\Gallery\Charts.ppt").Slides(2).Shapes("StackedCol").Copy
ActivePresentation.Slides(1).Shapes.Paste

End Sub

Can anybody help!!

you answered your question by your self...

Presentations is a list of loaded presentation files!
You must open the file ...

Have you tried recording a macro? That might get you started, anyway.

In that case, you'll need to be more specific about what you want to do.
Do you want to run this in Edit/Normal View or Slide Show View? Do you
want the inserted slide to have any specific characteristics? The basics
of adding a slide after the current slide aren't difficult, but the
details are important. Also, for good measure, you should include the
version of PowerPoint you are using (although that is unlikely to make a
difference in this case).
