VBA Add-in for Contacts

In Outlook 2003 Contacts there is an image box for linking to photograph
(jpg, etc.). This is similar to that I'd like to accomplish....

I would like to add another image box and associated controls under the
"Addresses" area of the Contact detail. (I will also want to create an
add-in function with a menu bar that is called from Actions when is active,
but that should be relatively straightforward).

What I would like to know is: can I (or a programmer who knows what they
are doing modify or add to the code for the "Contacts" form to add in
this desired feature, or can an add-in be written that is accessible while
the Contact page is open?
