vCard problems

B

Bill Campbell

Whenever I send a vCard the recipient always gets an email address
which has the designation of "Work". This occurs whether the vCard
address in the Address Book is "Home", "Other", or "Work."

Is there any way to correct this erroneous default behavior? It is
just wrong and shouldn't work this way.

I need help. Is there anyone out there who can help?

Hello!! Is Mickey Stevens or Diane Ross at home? Can someone hazzard
a guess at the cause of this problem?

No, there's nothing you can do about it. The labels for email address don't
export to vCard. The importing PIM simply uses its own default for the label
since it's not in the vCard. In the case of Entourage, and probably most
PIMs, the default is Work, so that's what you get. I don't know if the vCard
protocol even allows for email labels - quite possibly not. In any case,
Entourage doesn't do them.
