vertical fill

I did not ask the question correctly. If I have a spreadsheet with columns a
and b like below and there is over 50,000 lines........and there is 3 or 4
lines between each row below. how do i get rows 3-5 populated with a1 and b1
and rows 7-10 populated with a6 and b6 and etc. all the way down the sheet?

Hi
you may stay in the old thread. But to your question. try:
- select column A and B
- hit F5
- click 'Special'
- choose 'Blank cells'
- enter the equation sign '='
- hit the upper arrow key on your keyboard
- now hit CTRL+ENTER
