Very slow response from Aficio printer

I have used the various Publisher versions for years and currently use
2002. I have recently installed an Aficio AF 1232C colour printer.
Response time is very very slow after 'print' has been pressed and the
printing itself is also very slow. A technician has blamed Publisher
stating that it is well known that its spooling creates a much larger file
than most other programs. It thus takes longer to send to the printer hence
the very slow response and printing speed. I have never had the problem
with Publisher and any other printer. Can anyone help please?

If you have a Blend in the Publisher file the printing will be painfully
slow to impossible.
I always recommend staying away from blends with laser printers.

Publisher files as any other layout type program are slower because they do
make larger spool file sizes.

That AF 1232C is a great printer.
