I am using project to schedule many different constructions projects
simultaneously. I generally use the project name as the summary task and all
of the stages as subtasks. It would be a very easy scheduling tool to be
able to view the calender with each subtask with the associated summary task
linked to it. The calender mode only lists subtasks though, the only way I
have been able to over come this is typing the project name first at the
beginning of every subtask, but it is verry cumbersome. Does any know an
easier way to accomplish this?

Hi Ray,

To show summary tasks in the Calendar view:
1. Display the calendar view.
2. Choose Format > Bar Styles to display the Bar Styles dialog box.
3. Select Summary in the Task type list.
4. Change the bar type from None to one of your choosing.
5. Click OK to close the Bar Styles dialog box.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Ray,

Julie is correct. Here's another idea you may want to try.

Copy the summary task name to a project text field,
Fill down the text column for every sub-task,
Format barstyles and add your chosen text field along with any others.

This may help reduce the number of bars on your calender.

Good Luck,

David
