Viewing all bcc recipients I emailed

Can someone help with this..

I sent an email with many bcc recipients.
Now I'm trying to view all the recipients in my email in the "Sent"
folder, and it will only show a few with a "29 more"... but without
showing me the 29 others....

How do I display the others?

How do I display the others?

If you open the message into its own window by double-clicking it in the
message pane, you'll see the Bcc header line. If it is a group name,
Control-click on name and select Expand Group. If it is a list of names and
not all are showing, just click on the Bcc line and a window will popup
showing all names.

1. Go to the Entourage Help Page <http://www.entourage.mvps.org/>

2. For this question, I clicked on the Search A-Z Index in the right column

3. Click on B and select Bcc. This takes me to the FAQ page for Bcc.

I'm having the same problem and the solution either doesn't seem to work for me or I'm not understanding it. What does "click on the Bcc line" mean? What is the "Bcc line"?

I should specify that I'm using the 2004 version.

Tony; ditto for me. When the message is displayed, I've
"clicked" (left side of mouse) on the Bcc line displaying the partial
list of recipients, and nothing happens.

Diane; Microsoft MVP's must be using different versions of SWare than
their customers. I too am using 2004 Version 11.3.6....and your
proposed solution does NOT work. Although, I've figured out that if I
"resend" the message, it will display the all the bcc names, after
which of course, I have to make sure I dont really resend it. Shame
on Microsoft!

The behavior is the same in 2008 as it was in 2004.

The purpose of BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) is to *hide* BCCrecipientsfrom
everyone you send the message! When you send a message with BCC, the
addresses in the BCC line are not included in the message BY DESIGN.

Think about it:  If the addresses were included in the message, then
everyone you send the message to would see the addresses, which defeats
the purpose of BCC!

I don't see what is so hard to understand about this...

Jolly/JR: nobody is disputing the purpose and intent of a bcc!
Nevertheless, any email system worth its salt allows the original
creator of a bcc list to easily get to it and see it, without letting
anyone else see it. i.e. Same as in Outlook, Outlook Express, etc.
But it doesnt work in Entourage, or at least it isnt intuitive. You
have to invoke the "resend" key to view the original bcc list, and
then make sure you dont resend the message. And when you do that you
cant "copy" the original bcc list, etc. i.e. that is a real klugy way
to view your original bcc list that doesnt appear to be documented
anywhere.
MVP's are making like the problem doesnt exist, and to add insult to
injury, not sharing an existing solution.

Ok.  I've personally seen apparent evidence that at least *some* of the
people asking for this feature do not understand the purpose of BCC.

On the other hand, I do realize there are those of us who do understand
the purpose, yet still want an easy way to see BCCrecipientsof sent
messages.


I definitely agree with you on this point. Entourage already stores
other metadata about messages, such as priority, read/sent status, and
so on. It wouldn't be hard to store another bit of metadata listing BCCrecipients.

If this is a feature people feel is sorely lacking, wouldn't the best
thing to do be to submit a suggestion to Microsoft through the Entourage
Help > Send Feedback on Entourage menu command?

JR: you are correct .. I in fact got the "Resend" solution by
sleuthing through newsgroups info. Whereas the MVP asked me and other
folks with the same problem to "click" on the bcc line. Gimme a
break! ... they of all people ought to know better.....

On the subject of submitting suggestions for improvement and or fixes
to Microsoft: do you know where I can find a list of suggested
changes by Customers, and the Microsoft priority list with
implementation datest? ...or, as an Entourage Customer maybe you have
been proactively solicited by them for such a list already?
PS. I still have a year old unresolved issue with Entourage, a really
annoying one. We've been to the moon and back with MVPs to no avail.
The bcc issue is a just a minor annoyance; but a real one.

Bear in mind that MVP's are not MS employed and are not obligated to provide any help - they do so of their own accord. I didn't take Diane's response as being lack of acknowledgment of the issue; quite the contrary - she provided detailed help and methods of finding solutions online for future reference. She's only human and can make mistakes too.

The real question is whether your unresolved issues are show stoppers for you or just annoyances. If they're show stoppers, then Entourage is not the right product for you. No amount of venting on MVP's will help, as they cannot change the product code and implement real solutions for you. By all means complain, but do it direct to MS.

Justin: Not sure why you changed the Discussion Subject? 1) are you
a MS employee? 2) Mia Culpa re MVP's: I assumed they were MS
employees or closely affiliated with MS. So my apology to them if they
are just Joe Public trying to help others 3) Complain to MS?:
Surely you jest! 4) No one likes to get suckered into buying a
product that doesn't perform as advertised. I should have known
better! 5) The profusion of serious (not beginner or user based)
Entourage issues in the Usenet group speaks volumes.
