Is there a way to view a power point presention in XP if you do not have
Microsoft Office on your computer?

Hi - I *think* this is a solution to my own query - thoughts please?? I need
to be able to distribute a PP show created in PowerPoint 2000 SP-3 to a
group of people who don't have PP and whose operating systems will vary
between 98 and XP.

If I use the idea below (or this ??
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...6C4-AA4F-058A84A37DF1&displaylang=EN#affinity )
will it just run OR do THEY also need to download one of the above? Doing so
would be a problem as the machines are so locked down that downloading
anything is kind of difficult.

IIRC I used to be able to create a truly "stand alone" show when I used
Lotus year ago.

Thanks in advance - Rob

You are correct. The way you need to do this is to open your presentation,
click "File", "Package to CD'. You will see in the first dialog box that
the PowerPoint Viewer is included in the files copied to the CD, which is
what you want for those who do not have PowerPoint (or older versions).
Since the program needed to run your presentation is on the CD (and used),
nothing needs to be installed. It is merely run from your CD.

There are more ideas here:
