visio upgrade

I have an old Visio 4.0 version and would like to upgrade
it to the new version. Do I need to purchase the whole
package or will an upgrade version do me?

AFAIK the last upgrade that was available was V5, and I think that is now
gone since V2003 is available. I suspect its time to purchase something
newer.

Also, if you want to upgrade your drawings then you will temporary access
to Visio 2000, because Visio 2003 cannot open Visio 4 drawings.

This is not true. All versions of Visio can read files from any previous
version. Visio 2003 can read Visio 1.0 files.
