Visual C++ Runtime Library error

If I'm initially opening outlook 2002, I get this MS
Visual C++ Runtime Library error. I looked in knowledge
Base and did the fix. Go into tools/options/other
tab/add in manager. Then uncheck mcafee virusscan
although the KB says to uncheck Exchange Scan which I
don't have. I have deleted mcafee since I now have
Norton.
This fix does not seem to work. I'm thinking maybe I
should delete some leftover files from mcafee. Does
anyone know where to look or what files to delete? I see
some folders with MCAF and about 3numbers then tmp. Can
these be deleted safely?
