I just purchased Excel 2003 and was reworking my spreadsheet from Works
I use this formula in Works,
=VLOOKUP(L4,$J$53:$K$104,1
It works fine there but dosen't work with Excel 2003

Hi
this should do in Excel. what problem do you have?. You may change the
formula to
=VLOOKUP(L4,$J$53:$K$104,1,0
if you're looking for an exact match

I use this in a racing spreadsheet, in works it is ok, in excel i get the drivers name repeated instead of their finishing position.

The ,1, in this formula:
=VLOOKUP(L4,$J$53:$K$104,1,0)

Says to return the first column. And the first column is the name.

Try changing it to 2.
=VLOOKUP(L4,$J$53:$K$104,2,0)
