Wanna run 2 versions

M

melissa g

Hello Experts,

My question is particularly about Word, but it's
an "Office" question generally. I want 97 AND 2003 on my
notebook. What's the "neatest" method for installing them
and avoiding the ol' "installing" and "unstalling" routine
that happens each time I choose the "other" one?

Thank you so much in advance.

The only way to avoid the problem of "now installing" is to use 2 Operating
System partitions.

If you are not comfortable or unable to do so, then install the oldest first
and then patch that version fully. Then install the new version (it will
install automatically to a separate directory) and then patch that version.
Note: You can only have one version of Outlook. I strongly suggest you
keep the 2003 version. You cannot use Word 97 as the wordmail option in
Outlook but selecting that option under Tools->options->mail format, should
call Word 2003.

install 97 first, then 2003 - however, you will only be able to use outlook
2003. The other office apps should work just fine, save for the default
shortcuts. You'll need to create ones for 97 yourself... double clicking
files will open in 2003.
