Want mini slideshow of pictures on one slide

I have one slide that on the left hand side of it I would like to see images
which change automatically after a couple of seconds whilst the rest of the
slide remains the same and i'm not sure how to get that.

You could make your thumbnail images into gif files and then place them on
the left side of the slide.
