Want to download IMAP emails onto my computer.

Hi guys, just moved over from using Mac Mail for over a year now, still getting used to entourage.

After I connect to the email servers it says how many unread emails i have in the side-bar.
Is there any way that when I click to open a message that message gets automatically downloaded onto my computer, but still remain on the server?Basically an IMAP config, but this does not seem to happen for my IMAP account.???

Can this be achieved with Exchange and Windows Live accounts?
