Was this product ever tested?

I find this product, Entourage, probably the worst value for money of any
Microsoft offering. One pays more for the Mac Version of Office and is
given this inferior e-mail product (compared with Outlook).

Has this product been technically tested or given a user acceptance test?

My last problem was trying to schedule a recurring event for the last
weekday of every three months. 1) Entourage then creates the event EVERY
day, 2) when trying to modify another event is created?

When will this beta version of Entourage be replaced with a proper version,
and will we have to pay for it? (hmm)

Known bug. Workaround: Schedule the event for the 31st of every 3 months.
You'll get an alert that it will occur on the last day of months with fewer
than 31 days, and should work correctly. (Tested with 31st of every month).

Not that I know of. You may very well be the first buyer and tester.

Give us the details of the event, and what settings you are using in
the Custom window. We may be able to help.

May 15th, 3:00pm. Yes.

I may be accused of being a cynic here, but I'm not so sure it isn't by
design that the Mac version lacks a number of nice features that Outlook for
Windows provides.

I agree that Entourage, which is indeed different (and better) in a few
ways, is in others definitely inferior to its Windows brethren. And IMO it
runs slower, too, but in fairness to Entourage this may be a function of the
fact that I used to use Outlook on a T1 connection and an Exchange Server.

It's my opinion that Entourage has another major upgrade to go before it can
compete with the Windows version. In 2004 they added too much stuff that's
not all that important and left out many small but tremendously useful
functionality features that Outlook users enjoy. Yes, Entourage *presents*
somewhat better, but it still doesn't *work* better than Outlook.

This *might* be a function of the platforms upon which they were developed,
but I'm inclined to think that if it wanted to, Microsoft could make them
more similar -- something I would think would play actually better in
inspiring more users to buy Office for the Mac. Keep the "look and feel" of
the Macintosh, but give it the Windows speed and flexibility that Outlook
has.

Then again I'm not a MS Marketing guy...
