I've so many mailbox folders I'd like to be able to put a rule (a line)
inbetween different groups of them -- is there a way to visually do that in
the Folders pane?
No. I suggest creating subfolders. For example create a folder Talk Lists,
Work, Family, Buddies etc. then subfolders for each topic.
BTW, have you discovered Categories in Entourage?
Instead of having to update a rule with a new address, just use categories
instead.
For example, you want all your mail from your buddies to go into your buddy
folder. Just assign the category Buddies in the address book to each
address. If you add extra addresses in the future to this category, the rule
using category will automatically include the new address. It's a lot easier
than having to open the rule and add individual addresses.
Using categories is a good way to identify important mail. Create a VIP
category. Then when you read mail, you can be certain you don't miss the
answers from your VIPs. This is a quick way to skim mail for answers too.
Tip: be sure to include "Is not from a mailing list" or you'll get mailing
list mail in your buddy folder.
