Hi Fred,

MS has announced that in the next version of Office (Office 12) they plan on including an option to create a PDF file from within
the apps.

At present you can use a number of products, some free, some not, to create them from within Office, most often as a 'virtual
printer' choice,
http://cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp is one example.

I'm not sure about what you're looking for when you relate PDF file format to the ability to send sensitive material. You can
encrypt Office files now as part of saving them.
