can u add a field on a .html page to download prices from MSN or YAHOO
finance for a stock or mutual fund? For example:

I would like to add the Stock "POLARIS" (current price would be
automatically downloaded here) using the symbol.

Is it doable?

Any suggesions would be greatly appreciated..

You can get scripts to read feeds (eg RSS) to use on a
webpage. All you need is a feed to give you the information
