Folks,
looking for some advice on the best way to tackle this. I
currently have an app that's soon to be unsupported as we finish
converting to XP and Office XP. The app is a tool for my team to use
in determining the appropriateness of catalog elements. It was
developed in an older version of Access and has multiple data views.
There are about 8 "windows" stacked together that present data, with
selections from a previous affecting the next.
Window 1 contains Nouns.
Window 2 contains Modifiers and becomes active and displays relevant
modifiers when a Noun is selected.
Window 3 contains explanations of each modifier, which becomes active
and displays the correct record whn a modifier is selected
Window 4 contains synonyms, if found, for the noun (if the noun window
is active) or the modifier (if the noun is selected and the modifier
is active).
ETC
In other words, all the windows are related (via relationships in the
database) and become active after selections are made and the field
narrowed.
Now, the advice ... the team not only needs the tool but wants to make
it available to our "customers" (internal service requesters) ...
through our intranet website.
Would I be better off pursuing an ADO type web application, or
rebuilding the application in Access XP and just providing a link? Do
any of the web database products have that functionality? Should I be
looking at VBA? or?
thanks in advance.
