Is there a way to publish a powerpoing mht file that starts off in the
browser with the navigation controls but not the outline frame?

Glenna,

I'm using PowerPoint 2003 and saved the presentation as a "mht" file. There
is no script.js associated with it.

You need to Save as Web Page... not Save As...

If you saved it as a Web Page, then your file extension should be .htm or .html
you would have created a single file called <your-presentation-name.html>, along
with a folder called <your-presentation-name_files>.

If you used Save As... and selected .mht as the file type, then you created a
single file called <your-presentation-name.mht> this does not give you the same
options as saving as a Web Page.

Yes, but when you go into File/Save as Web Page as Michael suggests, you
have some publish options. You should be able to turn off the outline
there -- and still save as MHT/MHTML (single file web page).

I found that if you turn off the navigation, which gets rid of the outline, puts
you in the Kiosk mode, and removes any animations you might have. You get the
same results when you publish to html, only that we have discovered work arounds
(editing the html code) to have the slideshow open full screen. Don't know how
to do that for .mht/.mhtl files yet.
