web service parameters for data view

I am trying to insert a data view whose data source is a web service. I
clicked on "Add to Catalog" under "XML Web Services" in the "Data Source
Catalog" and got the data source dialog. Using it, I successfully connected
to the web service and selected the port and operation. The operation has a
string input parameter in the WSDL, but the data source dialog does not list
any parameter! So the call to the web service fails.

Why doesn't the dialog list the web service input parameter?
