Weird IMAP behavior

I have set up three email accounts in Entourage: one POP and two IMAP. The
email from the POP account is in the "On My Computer" Inbox, and the email
from the IMAP accounts is in the Inbox under the two new entries. I have
set "Send & Receive All" to run every 5 minutes, and it includes all three
accounts. The problem is that in one of the two IMAP accounts, I don't see
any new mail until I actually look in its Inbox (if I'm already looking at
that Inbox, I have to click on another folder and then go back to the
Inbox). Any ideas what may be causing this?

Go to Tools/Accounts/Mail/that account/Edit/Options.

Check the box that says "Download complete messages in Inbox".

My other IMAP account doesn't have this enabled, and I can see that I have
new messages without having to click on the folder. Maybe I didn't explain
myself. After "Send & Receive All" runs, you can see where you have new
mail because the Inbox will be bold with the number of unread messages in
parenthesis. For the problematic IMAP account, this doesn't happen. I have
to click on the Inbox for it to go and check for new messages and do the
bolding and update the unread message count. There are two things different
between the two IMAP accounts that I can think of (other than the fact that
there are on two separate IMAP servers with different username/passwords):

o The problem account is the default account
o The problem account has a Mailing list set up where the messages to
the mailing list get filed away on an IMAP folder

It doesn't matter that it's the default account.

In the "problem" account, do you have "Check for unread mail in subscribed
folders" (last line) checked in the Options tab for the account settings?

No, and neither is it checked for the other (working) account. Let me try
to disable the Mailing List to rule that out as a problem.

Nope, didn't make a difference (other than all the list emails showing up in
my Inbox rather than a sub-folder). I still had to click on Inbox for all
the new mail to show up. As I mentioned in the other thread regarding
timestamps in the Sent folder, maybe the problem is the IMAP server software
itself. I believe it's named Courier.

Go to Tools -> Schedules -> Schedule that checks account -> Click here for
account options

Is INBOX checked?

That was it -- thanks! Why isn't this checked automatically? I'm sure I
didn't disable it. It works just great now. I can't believe the solution
was so simple in the end.

It is checked by default. I think you must have unchecked it at some point,
perhaps from a different location.
