Weird inbox behavior

I'm experiencing a weird behavior regarding my IMAP account. Of course, for
all I know this is the "correct" behavior. For most (though not all) of the
emails directed to my IMAP .mac account, the email is immediately
transferred from my .mac inbox to two locations: 1) my inbox for my POP
accounts, and 2) the IMAP "deleted" folder.

Is this correct? I would much prefer to keep my .mac emails separate from
all others, but I can't find a way to alter this behavior. Thanks.

It sounds like the message is being moved to the local Inbox, which would
result in the original being moved to the Deleted Items folder on the IMAP
server

Is there an IMAP rule set up to move certain messages? It could also be
setup in the Mailing List Manager.

Wow, that did it. There was a mailing list rule (for new york times) that
had my .mac address as the list address. Since the rule was to move to the
(local" inbox, it was only doing what it was supposed to. Thanks so much!
