What do the sounds mean?

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Email Client: pop

Just installed Entourage and it seems to be working okay, but i'm puzzled by the sounds and I can't find the answer posted. Frequently I get a double bong sound. I thought it must be incoming email, but when I check there is no new email. How do I find what these sounds mean?

Entourage (menu) > Preferences > Notification > Sounds. You can even hear
them.
