what is Message-ID

we have an email from (e-mail address removed) sent to
cristinak@jardins_svr.lello.com.br . the mail went through for the first
time. but the second time, (e-mail address removed) returned a message saying
MESSAGE-ID: [email protected] WITH SOME
ERROR...

We do have a website called FRANCEGUIDE.COM, it has nothing to do with
FRANCETOURISM.COM. we are filing a lawsuit with FRANCETOURISM for something
else. suddenly francetourism thing appearing at our mail as mesage ID, really
scare us. are they spying us?

If the e-mail client doesn't add one, the mail server adds this header (and
a mail server can override a mail client and put in its own Message-ID
header). This header is to be unique for the lifetime of the account so
that every message you send will have a different value. See RFC 2822
(ftp://ftp.rfc-editor.org/in-notes/rfc2822.txt). If your e-mail client
isn't adding the header then it is your mail server that adds it. Talk to
your e-mail provider.

Without the Received headers in YOUR e-mail that your recipient got, we
can't tell through whcih e-mail server you sent your message and through
which intervening mail servers it passed before hitting the recipient's mail
server.

here is the error message. it is a brazil to brazil mail, why
francetoursim.com became our mail message ID? we file a lawsite with this
com, please let me know a little bit more. we are using outlook XP, pop3
mail. thanks very much for the education
