Since about 2 days I have the problem that when ever I start one of the
office programs it says " Fehler 1706" and always wants to run through Front
Page.
As I do not have the Microsoft office CD with me - I am not sure what to do.
I believe the problems maybe comes, as I have the programms instaled in
german language and the system is always trying to get the grammer help in
english for me, as most of my correspondence is in englisch.
Does anybody knows how I can change this without the CD?

Thanks
Jeannette

Hi Jeannette,

Error 1706 is 'unable to locate the installation source'.
This will come up if, as you mentioned, an uninstalled
feature needs to be available or if the MS Installer
software detects a problem with the installation.

Having the CD is an expectation of the installer software.
If you believe it may be a feature, such as the grammar
checker you may want to try to disable grammar checking
in Word in Tools=>Options=>Spelling & Grammar and
see if that stops the requests.
