When I space off a text form field the data entered changes

Word 2000. I have created templates using the text form field and when I enter certain words the words will either partially or totally disappear as soon as I space off the word. Example: December becomes Dece and Nancy becomes Nanc. Maximum length is set to unlimited in most cases but always to at least 50 characters. This happens in locked forms only.

There's a Knowledge Base article on this. It's a problem with AutoCorrect/AutoComplete firing in "unlimited" form fields.

Thank you for your assistance. However...I've tried this fix...adjusting the length of the field to between 25-50 characters, and although this helps in some cases, it still does not fix the problem all of the time.

Thanks...however, I have tried adjusting the length of the text form field already. Although this works sometimes, there are still instances where it does not fix the problem. I have also checked my auto correct feature to ensure that the problem is not in an auto correct entry.

in an auto correct entry.Well, with December, this is probably the AutoComplete for dates. If you turn off
"AutoComplete" under the AutoTEXT tab of the dialog box does that change things?
