when inserting movie powerpoint 2003 locks up

Just as the title says, Office 2003 SP1 all updates and XP Pro SP 2 all
updates. When I go to Insert --> Movies and Sound --> Movie From File,
select a wmv file and click OK, it tries to load the movie then half of
my screen goes green and Powerpoint locks up. I can End Task, and close
it. The movie plays just fine in Media Player and the movie can be
inserted into a Powerpoint document using other PC's. I can't find the
difference between the systmes that can and the ones that can't.

Has anybody seen or heard of this before? I googled it but been unable
to find a resolution.

I updated video drivers for the Dell Optiplex GX280 with the Intel 915
card and it plays as it should.
