When printing a duplex merged document, first is always blank

Hi,. I have some code that pulls data out of access into a text file,
it then opens a new document from a template and merges with the text
file.

The first page of the template is in portrait and the second is in
landscape, with the second page being a form made up from a table that
gets it's data from the merge

There can be up to 50 records in a mailmerge, when we do .printout we
get 1 of the following

First page has record second page is blank, every other page after
that is printed as it should be.

OR

The first page out is blank on both sides and every record after that
is printed ok

Basically in both scenarios the first record does not print properly
but all after that are perfect so to speak.

If we stop the code after the mail merge, or save the document to file
then open it again and hit the print icon, the document prints
perfectly.

Anyone had this sort of behaviour before, any help or advise is
greatly appreacited

Just a shot in the twilight:

Try pausing for a couple of seconds after the merge before printing:

Application.OnTime When:=Now + TimeValue("00:00:02"), Name:="<printing macro>"
