When transfering Contacts between devices, should be able to auto.

[Outlook's Master Category List, Uploads]

I have a PDA with over 1100 Contacts in my Outlook contact list. When
syncing to a new computer none of the customized categories upload to the
Master Category List. Therefore the Mater Category List has to be completly
repopulated. This is frustrating and I am surprised that the option doesn't
exist. We also tried copying the list to a disk and upload to the Outlook
Contact list. Again the Master Category list was not populated wtih the
Categories from the uploaded contacts.

You'll need to take this up with the manufacturers of your synchronization
software.
Categories are stored in the Registry, not Outlook.
