When you select the e-mail, or when you double-click the attachment? Which
program? Entourage, I'm assuming, not the program that is associated with
the attached files.

In Entourage, attachments are stored in the Database file (Entourage X) or
Messages file (Entourage 2001), located in HD/Documents/Microsoft User
Data/Office 2001 Identities/<Your Identity> or HD/Users/<Your
User>/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office X Identities/<Your Identity>
depending on your version. They aren't accessible directly like in some
other e-mail programs.

You could try dragging the mail folder on which these two e-mails are stored
and dragging it or them to the Desktop. If you import that into another
e-mail program that supports MBOX, like Apple Mail for OS X, you might find
yourself able to open the attachment.

All the attachments are kept in first place into the server from which
you download your e-mails. I don't know from where you download your
electronic correspondance but there are certain reasons why you cannot
take the attachements.
1. The files are corrupted
2. They are too big
3. You don't have the "privilege" to do so
I am not an IT manager to know more but I tried to give you a hind
