Hi,
I made a lot of folder in outlook, and now I want to work with them using a
file manager, like Total Commander or Windows explorer, but I can't find
them.

Where are the folders?

This is an XP pro system.
Thanks,
Avery

They are all inside a single file called Outlook.pst. That single file is all
a file manager will see. To work with the contents of that file, you will
need to use Outlook, AFAIK.

Hi Ian,

ouch! That hurts and that was what I was afraid of.
I guess it's time to say goodbye to outlook and find
a different email client.

Thanks for answering my question.

There are very few mail clients whose message stores make sense without the
mail client being used to access them.

Hi Bri,
That's what I'm finding out! I guess it's a bad idea to store emails inside
the email client if you ever want to manipulate them with a file manager.
Wish I had understood this way back when.

Hi Avery,

I must confess to being puzzled at what advantage you might find to using a
file manager, given the plethora of sort, search, group, and categorizing
abilities of Outlook. Have you found a file manager that is that good, yet?

Also, you can drag messages out of Outlook and into some other folder in
your file system, or use 'save as' to save them as text, again elswhere in
your file system, if you really want to do that.
