Where do deleted items go?

Just had the rare case, where I clicked to fast, and messages in inbox went
to deleted items folder. Never got to read them. Then the deleted items
folder went haywire and everything in there got deleted. Is that the end of
it?

If you do a command-Z, it will undo the last action. So if you accidentally
hit delete, then use cmd-Z and the messages will go back to the Inbox.
Then the deleted items
folder went haywire and everything in there got deleted. Is that the end of
it?

Bad new! Yes.

I'm not quite sure how the deleted items folder went haywire though, but a
schedule could have deleted the folder. Check your schedules under Tools in
the Menu bar.
