Where to search for an error number?

For weeks I have been getting an error 16999 telling me that a message
cannot be moved because it is incorrectly numbered (paraphrased from
memory). It does not tell me which of my 9 accounts is involved, does not
reference a message title or anything else that could let me track it, and
seems intent only on worrying me.

I¹ve asked about it before, and no one seemed to have seen it.

Where can I go to search error numbers? I have browsed help pages and can¹t
seem to find a definitive list.

Thanks.

There isn't one, as far as I know (I hope to be corrected on this by someone
at Microsoft.). Entourage 2004 provides better error descriptions and
troubleshooting tips, but it is still far from perfect. I strongly agree
that such a list would be quite helpful for users and MVPs.

The Entourage Help Page has an error page that Diane Ross has created based
on confirmed errors and solutions in the newsgroup. That's the closest
thing I know of on the web.

Thanks a lot, Mickey.

I went to the page you suggested and found the error number, although only a
³positive² version. Mine is a negative. Who knows whether that matters or
how, because the positive number error was close to what I am getting. Mine
refers to a bad message number, and the listed error refers to a corrupt
message or something like that.

I decided to allow Eudora on my PC to scan the server with ³leave mail on
server² unchecked. I think that cleaned out all the files, and I should not
have the problem anymore.

Thanks very much.
