Hi Tim,

To add a bit to Chris's answer, both MS Office XP and
Office 2000 are now 'discontinued' versions.
(Office System 2003 is the current release).

If you're looking at purchasing a new package note that
MS no longer has available replacement CDs for Office 2000,
in case that's a consideration and will not be doing further
updates to the apps in that version.

As far as 'better', it depends on what features you use now.
MS Office XP does not have the Small Business Tools of
Office 2000, for example.

any new version is ofcourse better then the old version, as according t
your question, office xp is defnetly better then office 2000.
but as posted above, i would recommend you to install Office 2003 whic
is the most latest version of office system, it has all the features o
2000, xp and many more new enhancements
