Why am I being warned about unicode?

On many replies that I make to messages I am getting a warning that the
message will have to be sent in Unicode. Why is that? And how do I make it
go away?

You used non plain US-ASCII characters in your e-mail probably (like alt-;
for instance). These can only be coded in unicode adn the applciation warns
you because not all mail client will be able to read them.

Thanks - but I am not using any of those characters. As mentioned, I only
see this when I reply to messages. I will, however look for those
characters in the reply messages....

Not even the ellipsis ???
There has to be at least one character... (or mabe in the text you quote).
