Why are discussion web functions disabled in borders file -ahdr.h.

FP2003 newly installed on PC and when building Discussion Web (DW)the 'Reply'
'Next' 'Up' 'Previous' functions are all disabled in the Borders file
disc-ahdr.htm. All other functions have links and operate satisfactorily.
This has resulted in non function of busy DWs on two web origianally built
with FP2000 then upgraded to FP2002 and now to FP2003.
PLEASE ADVISE what can be done to correct this situation which is causing
great concern. No-one on FP Yahoo Group seems able to assist/advise.
Very grateful for any help.

1) A DW should always be in a subweb by itself
2) The std FP nav bars (same level) only work w/i a web or subweb (not across webs)
3) The DW nav links only work on a server based web (not a disc based web)
- Post a URL to the DW home page w/ the problem

Thanks Stephan. I appreciate all this and all this is OK. Subsequent to my
query I now find that by accessing the websites from a separate PC the
functions operate via the servers (different hosting servers for each
website) OK. However on the main PC used to build sites the functions remain
disfunctioned when accessing the website via the servers. It seems to be the
/-vti.shtml.dll/forum-disc..-post.htm?.. that does not function on the main
PC via the servers. This file is held on the server not on the local.
Mystery! Any ideas?

Thanks but I think you misunderstood the problem.
www.hardygeraniums.com (click 'Discussion Link'). If you click an article
and then click reply (the same with 'Up' 'Next' 'Previous') then on my main
machine there is no link. On another machine all links work fine. What can be
the problem? Presumably on the main PC as it cannot be at the server end or
the second machine would not function correctly.
Appreciate any comments. I run XP- home and Nortons Works 2005 and Firewall.

When you are replying to a specific post the Next/Prev/Up are normally disabled by FP, since they don't apply

PS
On your server I can't get them to work even when I view a post (link takes forever to do anything and never opens)

Brilliant. Thanks - this answers many queries that have arisen over the
years. The link site is most helpful As I am reworking the site I shall take
note of the 'Pit Falls'!!
Again thanks to all for advice.

Thanks for looking at the site. I have the same experience with the main PC
but NOT on my laptop running the same XP but different Nortons which works
the prompts fine. Anyway many thanks.
