Why can't I customise the "delete slide" button in Powerpoint?

Powerpoint 2002 and 2003 won't save any custom image that you apply to the
"delete slide" command button. Anyone know of a fix or workaround?

Interesting bug Julian.

You can write your own VBA routine and button to perform the same function
that should be able to hold an icon, but that seems like a lot of trouble
for a little picture.
