Why can't I run a macro in PowerPoint?

I created a macro to create a gray 0.75 pt border. When I select an image and
try to run the macro, "Run" isn't an active choice, only Cancel, Edit or
Delete. I'm not running the macro at the time. I created and ran the same
macro before in a similar presentation. Any idea why is this happening and
how I can fix it?

Are macros enabled? Do you have macro security set to High (it should be
Medium or lower to run macros)? Is the macro actually in the presenation?
Do you see it when you go to the Visual Basic editor?

Thanks, David and Steve. I figured out that the problem is with the document
itself. Something must have been corrupted, because when I copied and pasted
the slides into a new document and re-created the macros, everything worked
properly again.

Great. I'm glad you figured it out. I've seen that happen occasionally.
Once I was able to solve the corruption problem with HTML Round Tripping
(http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00526.htm) for a presentation that
was too complicated to re-create. If it happens again, you might try that
as well.

Hi, David -

I just tried the "Round Tripping" trick, following Glen Millar's
instructions. It opened fine in PowerPoint as an MHT file. Glen says it's
important NOT to "muck with PowerPoint's html after it is published." Can I
do a "Save As" of the MHT file as a PPT file now and continue to edit it as a
regular PPT file?

Yes, if you open the MHT file in PowerPoint and do a Save As as a regular
PPT file, that should complete the round trip (and possibly clear up any
corruption).
