Why can't I sum two numbers?

Umm ...
1) calculation is set to manual rather than automatic (tools / options /
calculations)
2) they're not really numbers but numbers entered as text (right mouse click
on them, choose format cells and see what is selected) - to change, copy a
blank cell (from another sheet) click on your "numbers" choose edit / paste
special - add. Type your formula again and see it works.
3) you don't know the formula try =A1+B1 where A1 & B1 are your cell
references

if none of these are what you're after, feel free to post back with a few
more details.

Cheers

If you can't post a proper question explaining what you want in the BODY of
the message, why would you be able to sum two numbers?

Why won't my car start is a similar question, so try calling the garage and
just asking that. You really need to take the time to state the question in
such a way that you give us as much relevant information as possible. You
may have all the details in front of you but we have to rely solely on what
you communicate to us by way of your post.
