Why do I have 4 or 5 copies of same mail in box.

I have been using "Incredimail" for many years and just switched to
"Outlook".I set up my pop3 & smtp info tested it and waited for mail. When it
came, I had about 50 messages, really only 10 but each had copies of
itself.Also, it seems each has a differant byte
count.i.e.;27kb,29kb,32kb.TFR5. I have a lot to learn and would appreciate
any help.
