Why do my fonts change when sent to other computers?

We made a poster using 2003 power point. When we took it to Staples to copy
it, the fonts changed. They could tell what the fonts were supposed to be,
but couldn't get them to change, even by cutting and pasting. They said we
should have saved to a pdf format. Is that possible, and why did the fonts
change?

A font needs to be installed on the viewing computer. The exception is
Microsoft standard fonts, as they are installed by default on all Windows
machines. You have a few options:
1. Include the fonts along with the presentation
2. Embed the fonts in the presentation (TOOLS >> OPTIONS >> SAVE tab)
3. Create a high resolution PDF (this is my suggestion when sending
something out to print, as you know exactly what will be printed!)
