Why do tables and spreadsheets cut off when pasted into PowerPoint

Can someone please explain why tables from Word or
Spreadsheets from Excel do not import completely (i.e. bits missing
from right (or left handside) when taken into PowerPoint?

I have tried every kind of paste/paste special etc etc
