Why does my MUD Identity's date show up like this?

Can someone help me figure out the reason behind this:

The above link is a screenshot of my Microsoft User Folder, taken a few
minutes ago.

Today's date is Saturday, October 22. I'm using Entourage all day
today. I am definitely using the pictured Identity, yet the Identity
folder's date shows up as September 27th, almost a month ago.

I have been seeing this off date for the past few months. The reason
I'm aware of it is because I'm traveling quite a bit, and so I need to
move the MUD Identity from my Office G5 to my Powerbook, and then back
again once I'm home. Initially, I tried doing this by date, but as the
above pic shows, the date is not accurate.

Is this a glitch with Entourage (I'm on v11.2.1)? With Tiger (I'm on OS
10.4.2)?

Or do I not understand the whole date column?

thanks for any clarity on this,

Pitch

It's an issue with the Finder, not special to Tiger. It's always been this
way. The Finder only modifies dates of FOLDERS when you "physically" insert
a file into or remove a file (or subfolder) from it, not when a file within
it is modified by an application. Instead of using the Date Modified of the
folder, use the Date Modified of the Database file within it. That's
accurate.
