Why does my slide show stop at #97 of 100 slides?

No matter what I do, when I play my slide show, it stops after the 96th slide
out of 100. The inserted music and the slide show all stop. Why is that? I
have even tried telling PowerPoint that there are 103 slides (not the 100
actual slides) hoping I could trick to end on the 100th slide, but it won't
work.

Are the slides hidden? (Slide Show > Hide Slide). In PPT 2002/2003 you'll see
a gray box with a diagonal line through it near the thumbnails on the left)
if they are...

Try Slide Show|Set up Show. Do you have "all slides" selected there?

Have you checked that in slide transition you have "automatically after"
ticked on slide 96?
