Why is it deleting events?

It never did this before but awhile ago Entourage started deleting all
events that are older than two weeks. It recently started deleting
events that are older than one week. As far as I know, I haven't
changed any settings.

Why is this happening?

I forgot to mention I am running a stand-alone client, not off of an
Exchange Server.
