Why is it that I cannot use certain music in Powerpoint?

Does anybody know why it would be that when I add music to my powerpoint
presentations, some songs will play and others will not?

Need more info. What file types are the files and how were they generated?
What version of PowerPoint and Operating System are you working with?

The files are MP3's. These MP3's are of songs that were ripped to my computer
from CD's. The trouble I am having is that though I have utilized the same
program for all of the songs, only certain songs will play in my
presentations.
I am using Micosoft PowerPoint 2003 and I am running this program on a
computer with Windows XP.

Digital Rights Management (DRM) is causing your problem. The songs that
won't play are protected with DRM, which will not allow you to insert
them into PowerPoint. The technology thinks you are trying to distribute
these files in evil, nefarious ways. It might be right; it might be
wrong. But it doesn't care; it just won't let you do it.

Try putting the presentation and the MP3s in a folder directly on your C
drive, say, C:\test\

Do they play now? If so, your path length is too long.

Bingo! After trying what you suggested, I found that it was the solution to
the problem I was having. Thank you!
