Why is publisher freezing when I try to add clip art?

Whenever I try to add clip art to a publisher document from the clip art
supplied by publisher, publisher will freeze and not work until you start it
again. Any ideas on how to fix this? I have already tried re-installing the
program

Mine does this same thing, I have Pub 2000 and Win 98 SE. It used to work
fine, when it said put in CD #2 to get a specific clip art, I would and it
would. Now most of the time when I do this the hourglass spins and it says
"Publisher not responding" and I find the computer is frozen and I have to
restart. I've tried it in Word, too and it does the same.

At one time it worked fine- no problem.

I thought it might be the (old) CD but it does the same with a copy I have
of it.

It does the same when I try REPAIR or reinstall. I think it's my computer,
getting old and wearing out. I've tried washing the CD(s) and clearning the
drive (I have a CD that does this) and trying it in my CD-ROM and CD burner
drive.

Every now and then it works.

Not a solution, but at least you know you're not the only one (LOL)

Tell the folks that can help which version of Publisher.

I use 2000 and there are three service packs that correct various problems.

Hello Sheldon, Empty your Internet temporary cache, in Internet Explorer, tools,
Internet Options, delete files.

If this doesn't work think about upgrading your video driver.

Carrie, Have you ever defragged your hard drive? Have you ever compacted the Clip
Gallery, right-click any image in the catalog, click recover. There are
troubleshooting steps in the Gallery, the Gallery has its own help files.
