why is text in textbox is printing with a shadow?

everytime i put text in a textbox in word 2003, it prints with a shadow, even
if i click no shadow. Also, black lines in drawings have the shadow effect
too.If work savwed to disc it will print ok on another printer. printer
photocopies ok. I really need to lose this shadow. am using a hp psc1215 all
in one..have reinstaled new drivers for that too....
