Why the im/export function on my Outlook 2003 not active?

The import/ export function on the menu is in-active. How can I make it active?

What menu? The File menu in the main Outlook window should have the Import
and Export command you need.

On which menu?
If it is on the address book menu, it should be inactive.
If it is on the File menu, then install the necessary components form your
Office setup CD.

I

im/export

Yes - it's the pull down menu under "File". The command is there but it
cannot be clicked. The software was installed by the shop who sold me the
computer and software. I do have the disks with me. Do I have to reinstall
the whole Microfost Offies or can cstom install only this components? Pls
advice.
Thanks.

The Wizard in Office Setup will let you select the specific components you
want to install.
